About Us

Empty Nest Syndrome prompted us to find a hobby we could enjoy together to make our house seem less lonely. In 1998, upon seeing an Exotic for the first time, we immediately fell in love with the breed! We established DEWMANCATS in our home located in central North Dakota and registered our cattery with Cat Fanciers Association in 1999 and with American Cat Fanciers Association in 2004. Aside from the enjoyment we have gotten from living with and caring for these wonderful felines, we have really enjoyed all the people we have met and new friends we have made since beginning this hobby.

We are a very small cattery and plan to remain so, producing only a few litters each year. Our cats are an integral part of our household. Moms are provided with private bedrooms for kittening and rearing their babies until they are weaned. Our babies are raised "underfoot" so they get a lot of attention and socializing.

Our goal is to raise healthy and beautiful cats that represent the breed standards with integrity and have temperaments compatible with becoming affectionate companion animals. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing and healthy environment for all of our feline family members.

We exhibit three to six times a year in the upper midwest states and Manitoba and we are looking forward to exhibiting much more extensively once we retire.
